Export and import all connections

When a runtime has many connections — for example a mix of OPC UA, Modbus, and REST-RPC — replicating that setup on another runtime by hand is tedious. The connection list lets you export every connection at once and re-import it on another runtime.

Export all connections

1. In the Portal, open Runtimes and select the source runtime.
2. Open the Connections setup.
3. Choose Export all.
4. Save the generated file. It contains every connection definition plus its variable mappings.

Import connections

1. Open the Connections setup of the target runtime.
2. Choose Import and select the file.
3. Review the conflict report — existing connections with the same name are listed so you can decide how to resolve them.

4. Confirm. The connections and their mappings appear in the list.

Note

Variable mappings are exported together with the connection, so bindings to PLC variables survive the round trip — as long as the target runtime has variables with matching names.

Caution

Authentication secrets are not exported. After import, re-enter passwords, API keys, and client certificates for each connection that needs them.

Tip

To move the whole runtime — including its connections — in one step, use Export, import, or duplicate a runtime instead.
