License logiccloud on a PLCnext device
On Phoenix Contact PLCnext controllers, logiccloud is distributed through the PLCnext Store and licensed through the PLCnext licensing system instead of a standalone activation service and key file. This means installs and licenses follow the standard PLCnext workflow that PLC engineers already know.
Install logiccloud from the PLCnext Store
Section titled “Install logiccloud from the PLCnext Store”- Open the PLCnext Store in a browser and sign in with your Phoenix Contact account.
- Search for logiccloud and open the app page.
- Install it on the target controller (for example via Install on device, or by copying the install URL into the controller’s WBM).
- Approve the prompt on the controller; the runtime is downloaded and installed.
- Reboot the controller if prompted.
To update later, open your device in the PLCnext Store and apply the available logiccloud update; the controller installs the new version and restarts the runtime.
Activate a license on a PLCnext controller
Section titled “Activate a license on a PLCnext controller”- Purchase the logiccloud license for PLCnext through your normal Phoenix Contact channel and receive the order number / activation code.
- On the PLCnext controller, open the licensing page (PLCnext Engineer or WBM).
- Add the logiccloud license using the activation code.
- Reboot the controller (or restart the logiccloud runtime) so it picks up the new entitlement.
- In the Portal, verify the device’s runtime now reports a valid license.
Check license status
Section titled “Check license status”In the Portal, open the PLCnext controller’s device page. The license panel shows the licensee, expiry, maintenance period, and any feature flags. If the runtime is unlicensed, the panel shows a warning.
