Set and update the maintenance period on a license key
A license key has a maintenance period — the time window during which the licensed runtime is entitled to receive updates. The maintenance period is separate from the license expiry: a license can stay valid, while updates may require an active maintenance window.
Set the maintenance period when issuing a key
Section titled “Set the maintenance period when issuing a key”- In the Portal, open Licensing → License keys and start a new license key.
- Fill in the customer, product, and validity fields as usual.
- In the Maintenance period field, pick the end date of the included maintenance window.
- Save the key. The key encodes the maintenance period.
Update the maintenance period on an existing key
Section titled “Update the maintenance period on an existing key”- In the License keys list, select the key whose maintenance you want to extend.
- Open the detail panel and edit the maintenance period.
- Pick the new end date (typically after renewing the customer’s maintenance contract).
- Save. The customer can refresh their runtime to receive the updated entitlement.
